This game sounds fun!
So I'm potentially brand new to GW. I'm from the WoW world and it was my first MMORPG. I'm very interested in GW so I thought I'd do some research.
After browsing through these threads I'm seriously concerned about disconnects, Titles and Favour. Are there fun aspects to this game that would make it still worth buying? or have the programmers effed everything up with new systems trying to appease whiners? Bottom line, should I spend money on this game or wait for something else to come out like Age of Conan or Tabula Rasa? Thanks from a noob! |

This is a great game IMO. You may want to wait til the Platinum Eddition so you can get Prophecies and the new expansion pack all at the same time.
These forums usually seem like there are more whiners than there actually are. Titles, Favour, skils, etc, those are all fun things to have after you finished with the main story line and quests. I'm not one that like to PvP, but there are lots of others who love to PvP. The bottom line though depends on what you liked about WoW. After all, GW isn't a "No monthly fee WoW". They are two different games. |

The reconnect feature was temporarily disabled due to an exploit but will most likely be re-added soon.
Favour of the Gods sucked if you weren't on the European server beforehand because Europe had favour 85% of the time. Favour allows players to access areas with good loot. The system was changed, and is now fair, and all areas are equal. The developers do change things and nerf skills, people cry, then they get over it 5 minuts later. 99% of changes are for the better. Titles are there if you want to attain them but they can be disregarded if it's not your scene. They are grinding and gold-sinks but fun nonetheless. |

Just curious. This guy is banned and this is his first and only post. How is that possible?

I have often wondered the same thing. Many people marked as banned when they had made a sensible post earlier that same day. Then later they are unbanned. And never have I noticed any out of line posts from them, but they may have also been removed along with the ban. DB query problems? I wondered if it was just the display from the query involved in generating my page view, but now I know others see it too. Hum.

maybe his confirmation email came back as not a real address, but if he still checks, like some else said, it would be worth it to wait for the platinum edition, it will give the consences best Guild Wars game and the new expansion.

Aren't their names greyed out when they're banned?
Back on topic: This game used to be a blast for me, but anet's micromanagement of things that didn't need to be managed got out of control imo. Your a first time player, so you'll have fun. Start with guildwiki.org and READ the potential scams to avoid BEFORE you start playing. KANE |

Well it's free to play, so if you get tired of it it's not like you've spent insane amounts of money on it. I would give it a shot. The complaning is overblown. The amount of people who play and love it and don't even visit forums is probably huge, people come on forums to complain, those who like it play the game :P
"If people spam they can remove their post count as punishment." Punishment? Some people live sad lives if getting a post count removed is a punishment... |
